SUSTAINABILITY

SSFM’s island heritage instills an urgency to incorporate long-term, sustainable and resilient solutions in all that we do. Our work with government agencies and private enterprise embraces the need for climate adaptation, sustainability, and resilience.

A statewide feasibility study of managed retreat from Hawaii’s vulnerable coastlines; an economic recovery strategy for Hawaii’s small businesses; design principles for resilient site design and urban development; and a climate change risk assessment for critical Oahu’s transportation infrastructure are among the projects that exemplify SSFM’s expertise and commitment to our precious environments.
