SSFM Receives Two American Planning Association, Hawai‘i Chapter Awards

The American Planning Association, Hawai‘i Chapter announce its winners for the 2019 Chapter Awards Program. The annual awards recognize individuals, communities, private organizations, public agencies, and professional planning and design firms whose work exemplifies the planning profession’s highest goals and ideals. Eighteen nominations were received in nine categories. Award nominations were reviewed and winners selected by a jury of professional planners from the APA Hawai`i Chapter.

APA Hawai`i presented the awards at the Hawai‘i Congress of Planning Officials Conference on September 11, 2019. SSFM’s winning projects included:

  • Best Practice – Complete Streets Improvements for Nu‘uanu Avenue and Liliha Street, City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation Services and SSFM International, Inc.
  • Transportation Planning – County of Hawaiʻi Transit and Multimodal Transportation Plan, County of Hawaiʻi, Mass Transit Agency and SSFM International, Inc.
