About the Project

SSFM provided construction management services for the lobby stone floor tile replacement and repairs at the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole U.S. Courthouse in Honolulu. The project entailed the replacement, honing and sealing of cracked stone tile on the second and third floor public lobbies and the removal, replacement and sealing of the entire Balzac stone tile area, including removal of the mortar bed, on the first and fourth floor public lobbies of the courthouse.

The project was initiated after the owners discovered discoloration and calcium buildup within the warranty period and that the tiles had not been installed correctly, requiring the original contractor to remediate the work under the warranty clause.
