About the Project
UH Manoa’s Kennedy Theater with its 620-seat auditorium is one of Honolulu’s Historical Buildings. In need of renovation, SSFM was enlisted to provide construction management services including review of design documents for constructability; recommendations on cost and budgets; scheduling, entitlement and permitting; contract issues; submittals and change proposals. SSFM also prepared daily and weekly reports and project status schedules and managed pre-final inspection and close-out procedures.
The renovations included removal and replacement of rough and finish carpentry, joint sealant, steel and wood doors, frames and door hardware, aluminum windows, louvers, bulletin boards, acrylic pamphlet display rack, bird spikes and screens, and loading dock bumpers. Concrete repairs to building exteriors allowed painting of the exterior. New construction included installing a high security keying system and constructing of a retaining wall.
