About the Project

Phase 1 of this Keaau-Pahoa Road project extended from Shower to Kaloli Drive and included pavement widening, guardrail modifications, signing/striping and minor grading to allow for a contraflow lane to alleviate peak hour congestion. Phase 2 improved the Ainaloa Boulevard intersection by converting it to a single-lane roundabout. Pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements, utility relocations, signing/striping, lighting, bus pullouts, and traffic calming measures were were included.
