About the Project

SSFM supported the Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division, Oahu District, by delivering project management, inspection, and design services for a multi-year culvert improvement program across the island. SSFM inspected and assessed approximately 980 culverts, updated the statewide asset database, and recommended remediation measures to support regulatory compliance and long-term infrastructure resilience. SSFM leveraged innovative tools, including drones, remote inspection devices, and high-resolution video, to enhance the efficiency and safety of the culvert assessments.
