Waterfront Operations Facility

When Navy SEALs, divers and technicians who work and train at the B987 outgrew their facilities, it severely impeded their operations in secure conditions and necessitated new accommodations. Improvements include a 3,716 sq/m. Waterfront Operations Facility addition to Building 987 for SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One. The addition includes operations, training, planning, and mission support space, as well as individual and platoon equipment storage and load out areas. The scope expands Medical and Ordinance and also supports the Naval Special Warfare Group Three Tactical Athlete Center (TAC).

SSFM provided civil engineering services including preparing portions of the Design Build RFP package; attending the charrette and preparing the civil engineering portions of the report; and developing the probable civil construction costs. Its location in a flood zone required raising the addition several feet. We obtained a waiver to allow the addition to match the existing building level.
