Since its founding in 1965, the John A. Burns School of Medicine has grown steadily to become one of the top ten medical education institutions in the United States. The school recently embarked on a major expansion program In order to maintain that lofty status and accommodate its continuing growth. Centerpiece of the expansion is a new LEED Certified complex that includes buildings devoted to research, education, administration, fitness, and childcare, along with a new central plant.
SSFM provided structural engineering and special inspection services that were pivotal in bringing this complicated undertaking to life.
