The Cove Waikiki
The 4-story Cove townhouse complex located in Waikiki is sited on approximately 1.6 acres. The building is located in a flood zone requiring a no rise analysis. SSFM worked with the architect to design the site and buildings, providing civil engineering for the design of water, sewer, drainage, roads and the parking lot.
The density of development in Waikiki created a challenge to integrating Low Impact Development (LID) principles into the design. The site is filled with buildings and hardscape leaving little space for drainage. To integrate LID principles, shallow retention basins were designed along the property lines.
