The Cove Waikiki
New 48-Unit Development
SSFM provided a full range of civil engineering services—including design of all water, sewer, drainage, roads, and parking— for development of this 48-unit townhouse condominium complex. Its location in the heart of Waikiki presented an economic opportunity for the developer and a design challenge for SSFM. Given the value of land in this area, economic reality called for as high a density as possible for any new developments. But, at the same time, the design had to comply with Hawaii’s Low Density Development requirements. SSFM overcame that challenge by designing a creative system of shallow retention basins along property lines.
