Puainako Street Realignment Widening

Conceptual Design

Realigning and widening stretches of Puainako Street required the collaboration of the firm’s Planning, Project Management, Traffic Engineering and Civic Engineering services. The project entailed plan preparation, cost estimates; review of prior environmental assessments; drainage improvements; guardrails, retaining and sound barrier walls; installing pavement markers, object markers; traffic signs; intersection signals; highway lighting and adjusting and relocating utilities. The Traffic Feasibility Study evaluated 8 scenarios for alleviating morning traffic congestion at school drop-off time, and made recommendations for reducing delays and queuing and enhancing safety.
