Mission Support Training and Information Systems Facilities

A pair of new buildings at Schofield Barracks, the Mission Support Training Facility (MSTF) and the Information Systems Facility (ISF) were slated as milestone projects for the Army’s sustainability initiative. SSFM provided structural engineering and civil engineering for both facilities.

The Information Systems Facility is a 38,138 s.f. multi-story building that supports essential communications capabilities and interfaces between existing information data communication systems which support the increased requirements of the proposed Army Transformation program.

More / Less
The Mission Support Training Facility, an 89,803 sq. ft. building, houses war-fighting simulations training and digital classroom training that support simulation training. Comprehensive infrastructure and facilities include water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, electric service, exterior lighting, fire protection and alarm systems, paving, walks, curbs, gutters, parking, information systems, state-of-the-art intra-communications and intercommunications systems, and site improvements.

The Army’s sustainability initiative evaluations are based on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system developed by the US Green Building Council. The MSTF received a silver rating and the ISF a gold rating.
