Bennett Fung’s Visit to the Vessel
SSFM’s Bennett Fung, recently visited New York City. In his role as a senior structural engineer, Bennett’s attention was naturally drawn to some of the amazing construction projects sprouting up throughout the City. He was particularly impressed with the Vessel, a part of the Hudson Yards development. “It’s quite an amazing structure and as an engineer, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by its complexity and uniqueness.” What is it? Described with terms such as a stairway to nowhere and an urban jungle gym, the Vessel is New York’s newest civic landmark. Bennett says it reminds him of M.C. Escher’s drawing, Relativity, come to life.
