$13M to fix Waikiki beaches

With the rising sea level and unusually high tides, Waikiki beaches are faced with erosion problems that are damaging seawall structures. It’s reported that “Waikiki locals say that just 5 years ago this was a beach that went out twice as far as it is today.” This is further proof that the impact of sea level rise on the Islands is real.
