Community and local agency concerns about the high number of traffic accidents along a 12-mile section of Waikoloa Road, located in Hawaii’s South Kohala District was the impetus for a capacity analysis and safety improvements study conducted by SSFM. The study also examined existing and future roadway conditions and recommends short, medium and long‐term solutions to the current and potential problems in the corridor.
