Lee T. Takushi, P.E., S.E., LEED AP

Vice President,
Senior Structural Engineer

Lee Takushi joined SSFM after earning his Masters degree and has spent his entire 40-year career with the firm. But his roots with SSFM go back even further. Lee was inspired to become an engineer after listening to a member of SSFM’s engineering staff speak at his high school.

Currently a Vice President and Senior Structural Engineer at SSFM, Lee leads teams of structural engineers and does design work for highly visible and challenging projects throughout the state of Hawaii. His role in design of the highway bridges and airport terminal structures is typical of the kind of work he does. Through a string of contracts, Lee also provided engineering services for maintenance and restoration of Aloha Stadium on a nearly ongoing basis for almost 30 years.

Even with such a long and distinguished resume, Lee still finds great satisfaction in the career he chose way back in high school. “I really enjoy coming up with solutions to challenges and seeing things I designed get built.”
